Pupil Leadership
Year 11 Prefects 2021-2022
“At Selly Park Girls' School we believe pupil leadership is one of the central strands of achievement. Learning is not something that is done to us, it is a collaborative process with adults and young people working in partnership. At Selly Park Girls' School we believe that the more engaged pupils are in your school the more likely they are to succeed.
We want as many pupils as possible to be able to take on a leadership role.
Intent
To recruit a range of passionate pupils who would like to become school leaders and make a tangible contribution to the life of the school and/or the wider community. To support individuals to develop essential leadership skills and confidence for life after school. To ensure that all pupils groups are reflected within leadership roles.
Implementation
To provide pupils the opportunity to apply for leadership roles and to train all successful applicants to fulfil their role to a high standard.
To plan a programme of strategic targets that detail the purpose of the roles, and to celebrate the positive contribution their work is making to school life.
To create high standard of training for all pupils interested in applying for leadership roles and to ensure that there are a broad range of considered roles that meet the needs of our pupils.
Impact
To measure that overall impact of the leadership roles through pupil voice, analyse of events on whole school events and the showcasing of outcomes that have been achieved by the pupils.
