Our school library is a bright modern workspace designated to support all our students’ independent reading and study needs. Girls are encouraged to seek out books that will stretch and fire their imagination, promote learning and add value to the depth and quality of their school work.
The resource collection is constantly developing due to continued investment and suggestions from staff and students. The library currently houses around 12,000 items including a varied selection of fiction titles, information books, reference materials, journals and electronic resources. We aim to support all our pupils to help them achieve the best learning experience possible.
The library is staffed by a qualified librarian throughout the school day and a very helpful team of student librarians. Students can use the library at morning break, lunchtime, from 8.00am before school starts and after school until 4.00pm. We hope to encourage an active environment with clubs to support reading, help with homework and plenty of quizzes and challenges for everyone to enjoy.
Students are encouraged to request resources for the library with regular questionnaires and feedback from the student council. We also have a suggestions box for pupils to make their ideas and requests known. Everyone’s ideas are valued and where possible actioned.
